Details

1. Cross-chain Infrastructure

Cross-chain tooling and infrastructure category refers to mechanisms, protocols, platforms and other tools enabled by blockchain interoperability that allow the communication or transfer between ICON’s projects and other chains. 

2. Metaverse

Metaverse refers to shared virtual worlds where land, buildings, avatars and even names can be bought and sold, often using cryptocurrency. 

3. Social Impact / Public Good

Looking beyond the commercial sense of blockchain, the Social Impact / Public Good category refers to blockchain protocols/platforms built using ICON project to create significant or positive change to solve or at least address social issues and challenges such as climate change, economic inequality, fake news and other harmful or unjust practices in the world. 

4. NFT & Gaming

NFT and/or gaming refers to NFT applications that deploy ICON’s NFT Standard or non-NFT based games that utilize ICON’s protocols and interoperability features. Note: Gambling/Casino games will NOT be accepted. 

5. Utility

Utility category refers to useful ICON applications for non-technical or technical users. They can be applications used daily by the average consumer or technical developer tools that enhance ICON’s developer ecosystem.

Judging Criteria

  • Idea
    We focus on simple but unique ideas that approach prospective solutions to expand the ICON 2.0 ecosystem and how well this is presented
  • Implementation
    How the idea is implemented. How good is the overall user experience? Is it easy to use? Is the design appealing to end users?
  • Development
    How much of the ICON protocol is being interfaced with or utilized via SCORE? How useful is the blockchain implementation of the project?
  • Interoperability
    Does the project contribute to ICON's interoperable future by utilizing ICON Project interoperability features such as BTP or ICON Bridge technology?
  • Value
    Is the project able to be developed continuously in a sustainable fashion?
